This is a great infographic from Brian Solis, author of The End of Business as Usual and What’s the Future of Business, about how many businesses have become extinct over the years because of their “rigidness” and lack of ability to adapt.

Only 71 companies remain today from the original 1955 Fortune 500 list.

New York’s Center for an Urban Future (CUF) is out with a report entitled “Smarter Small Business” as summarized in this AMEX OPEN Forum article. By the way, if you’re not a regular OPEN Forum reader, you should be. The CUF studied over 230 small businesses in New York City and found that “too few small businesses are taking advantage of technology.”
